Development Update April 2006
Dynamic Toolbars & Mouse Context Menu’s driven by Key-events & -definitions
The ‘Button Key List’ is probably one of the most ‘unbecoming’ graphical components of the Dynamic 4GL / BDS language. It’s cumbersome usage and outplaced appearance just forced users to see and think of this as a ‘text mode’ driven application with a legacy gui face lift. | |
The Querix technical development team has now taken the already existing key list definitions, expanded it by additional parameters such as graphical image, tooltips and detailed description to allow 4gl developers to display & process graphical toolbars and mouse context menus dynamically. All additional/new parameters are optionally and the standard BDS keys syntax is fully compatible and sufficient to dynamically create toolbars and context menus instead of filling the screen with large buttons. This feature will be available in our next release Hydra4GL Version 4.3 Q4/2006. Beta Testing begins in Q3/2006. |
