We would like to invite you to our workshop "Querix - New Functionality in 'Hydra4GL' 4.3", to be held in Southampton, UK on the 20th February 2008.

This workshop is designed for developers who are currently working with Querix 4GL, BDS, Genero, Classic 4GL or are interested in learning about application development with this highly robust, feature-rich and efficient development environment. Regardless of your current technical background, this venue should be on your calendar.

During this full-day workshop you will be shown how to utilise the new features with the recently released 4GL development suite 'HydraStudio' 4.3.

You are welcome to bring your own notebook/laptop along if you would like to apply the workshop contents during these demonstration sessions.

Topics will include:

  • Web Services 'Overview' - What are Web Services and how can this technology be useful for my application
  • Web Services 'Client' - How to access und utilise Web Services from other Service Providers (written in 4GL or other programming languages)
  • Web Services 'Server' - How to provice 4GL Web Services for other 4GL and non-4GL written applications 
  • Web Deployment using Chimera - In HTML embedded Java Applet and Java WebStart
  • Dynamic Graphical Toobar
  • Modern Grid Control
  • Resource Management, i.e. how to get a file from the server to the client and vice versa (normal file or BLOB file download and upload), Invoking MS-Office with a BLOB Document, and others 
  • Querix Product Roadmap - a preview of Lycia, the platform independent development solution
    • Lycia - The new IBM Eclipse based IDE
    • Fully integrated graphical debugger
    • The new XML based graphical form designer

Sessions will be led by Hubert Hoelzl and you will also be able to meet Dominic Smith, Director of Product Development and Research and Ross Freemantle, Product Development Manager - 'Lycia'.
