Common Querix Client Features

Font Support

The Querix clients support all native fonts available on the client side. All your Proportional and Non-Proportional fonts in any available True Type Font families will be rendered as expected. Additional font attributes such as underlined, crossed out and italic are also available options. This freedom in the choice of fonts allows you facelift your applications to keep your presentation clear and crisp.

BLOB Handling

Phoenix and Chimera are not only able to transfer Binary Large Objects (BLOBs and CLOBs), but, with the appropriate tools, can also be used to view and modify them too.

Localisation

Just a few lines of Querix script code and your user have access to right-to-left reading locales, and the character-based alphabets that they use.

Multiple Document Access

Phoenix and Chimera have enhanced multiple form handling ability and provide support for switching between single document interface (SDI) and multiple document interface (MDI).

Application Wrapper with Central Application Launcher

The ‘Central Application Launcher’ menu allows you to represent and operate any collection of applications within one menu. This gives the user the feeling of a single application suite, and multiple applications can be run on the same client. A configuration programs allows you to define the menu bar with application launch and menu structure parameters. All data are stored in a table on the database for centralized maintenance. Applications can be password protected, users and groups can be created and also retrieved from the current user.

Colours

Querix clients use the RGB colour definitions. By default, all 4GL colours with corresponding color attributes are already pre-defined but can be modified if required. Any number of additional colours can be defined within the script using the color object.

Help Messages and Prompts

Native and customisable dialog windows are available with generic function calls. Traditional 4GL dialogs, such as Message, Error and Ringmenu Help Text can also be displayed in a familiar GUI dialog box format.

Window Style Definition

The Querix 4GL environment supports both Flat Panel Embedded windows and Floating windows. Your developers can control the window style within their 4GL source code, and independently by setting the window property in a GUI Script File. This gives your developers complete control of window appearance.
