Database & OS Support
Multiple database connectivity with one database access layer

However many RDBMSs you may use, due to the unique Querix Dynamic SQL and Data Type translator, you only need one version of your data access layer, which means reduced maintenance and less administration.

“Querix makes migration across different database engines as easy as child’s play. Its speed and reliability are really amazing. Querix is the best option for making our legacy systems attractive and it has increased the life-cycle of our programs.” Daniel Rubino, Information Systems Manager, Drogueria Uruguay S.A.
'Hydra4GL' supports 18 of the major platforms and operating systems, as well as most of the major database vendors. It provides dynamic translation from Informix-style SQL and datatypes to the target database vendor's style. The following databases are currently supported:
- Informix IDS/SE/OnLine
- Oracle 8i/9i/10g
- Microsoft SQL Server
- IBM DB2
- Pervasive
- MySQL (via ODBC and generic Dynamic SQL translation)
- PostgreSQL (via ODBC and generic Dynamic SQL translation)
- Other databases accessed via ODBC without Dynamic SQL translation
Querix is currently woing to provide native connectivity and dynamic SQL & datatype translation for a number of other databases. These are currently supported without dynamic SQL translation:
- MAX-DB (SAP-DB)
- Adabas
- Sybase
- Xbase
'Hydra4GL' can also switch databases at runtime. This completely new feature allows a single 4GL application to connect to any supported database without the need for recompilation.
