System Requirements

The recommended minimum system requirements for 'Hydra4GL' on a Windows system are a Pentium III processor and 128Mb of RAM.

For Unix and Linux systems we simply recommend that you have the latest version of your vendor's operating system installed.

Below is a list of the minimum requirements your computer needs to run 'Hydra4GL' 4:

C Compilers

'Hydra4GL' requires an ANSI ‘C’ compiler to build 4GL applications; this operates in the same way as the Informix ‘C’ version. The following list is of supported ‘C’ compilers for various platforms.

  • Linux: gcc
  • Solaris: SUN Works Pro C, gcc
  • AIX: Visual Age, gcc
  • SCO Open Server: SCO development system compiler, (not the UDK compiler), gcc
  • SCO UnixWare: SCO development system compiler, (not the UDK compiler), gcc
  • HP-UX: native HP-UX C compiler, gcc
  • NCR: native NCR C compiler, gcc
  • Alpha/Tru64 Unix: native C compiler, gcc
