Project Tree
Application Build Failure
If an application fails to build because of a coding or linking error, the corresponding project modules will be shown with a red cross, over their icons in the project tree. 'HydraStudio' should also produce an error message within the corresponding source code.

Failed Forms Won’t Stop Application Build
'HydraStudio' does not stop building the executable just because a form file fails to compile. The build will continue, and 'HydraStudio' will display an orange check mark against the program icon in the project tree.

The project tree organizes each type of file into separate categories.

You can select the entire contents of a directory, including sub-directories, to be imported as a project. 'HydraStudio' will automatically assign the files by type (file extension) into the corresponding folder in the project tree.
With 'HydraStudio' it is also possible to import existing I4GL applications directly into 'HydraStudio'. This allows quick and easy migration of applications into the Querix environment without having to create individual files and then copy and paste the contents across to the 'HydraStudio' editor. It should only be used for existing I4GL or Q4GL projects. To import an existing project first give it a name, then from the Menu, choose File, then Project, and select Import I4GL Project. Type the name of the project into the Import I4GL Project dialog and then Browse for the source project.

'HydraStudio' has an intelligent application deployment facility. Programs can be deployed to the application server, or any other file directory, with all the resources needed, on the click of a button.
Each time that you install an application, either to a GUI server or a directory, the only files to be loaded to the target location will be those that have been modified since the last installation to that location.
Directory Auto-Generates on Application Server
The 'HydraStudio' Deployment tool now re-creates all sub-directories for the development project at the application server on request, to create an identical environment.
Platform independent directory structure
You can now write all path specifications using the unix-style forward slash. When applications are deployed on a Windows system or client, the forward slashes in path properties are converted to backslashes, simplifying multi-platform development.
Application Launch in 'HydraStudio'
Once it is built, 'HydraStudio' can deploy your current program to the application server. You are then given a choice of client on which to run your application. Just double-click the program name in the project tree, then select your client from the dialog box.

Include/Exclude Source Files
Within 'HydraStudio', just two mouse clicks will allow you to specify whether a project file should be included in an application build or distribution. Excluded files are saved with the project and are restored when the project is reloaded.
To cut down on connection time, you can also specify which files you want to be automatically downloaded to the client at connection time, and which are only available on demand.
